Background
HighRes, a leading lab automation company based in the United States, embarked on a transformative journey by integrating Bluestar PLM with their Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP system. Faced with the challenge of disjointed systems and data silos, HighRes sought a solution that would not only bridge the gap between PLM and ERP but also enhance productivity and data quality across departments.
Before adopting Bluestar PLM, HighRes operated with two separate systems: their ERP and PLM. This separation created significant difficulties in accessing critical data from different perspectives. Supply chain data and engineering information existed in isolated silos, preventing seamless access to essential information like inventory details from the PLM side or engineering specifications from the supply chain side. This gap in data visibility made it difficult for teams to work efficiently and cohesively.
The company needed to create a unified source of truth where both supply chain and engineering perspectives were easily accessible. This need became even more apparent during data migration, where legacy CAD data required thorough cleanup and validation, revealing deeper issues layer by layer.
HighRes selected Bluestar PLM for its robust native integration with Microsoft Dynamics 365. It ensured that the transition would be seamless for users, providing enhanced data accessibility without requiring complex workarounds. Additionally, the project required close collaboration between the HighRes and Bluestar teams, spanning both the US and Europe. The global support structure provided by Bluestar ensured smooth transitions, especially during the critical go-live phase.
