Background

Dellner Hydratech is a global company specializing in hydraulic components for the wind turbine industry, offshore-, marine-, and industrial applications, and service & repair. The company employs 400 people at its different manufacturing, sales and service locations around the world.

They previously used systems where users had to manually enter all data from the technical systems to production. Communications between engineering and manufacturing was challenging. The time-consuming manual process involved with populating product data from one system to the other resulted in production errors and long waiting times.

Dellner Hydratech was looking for a solution that could tie together the worlds of production and technology, so they could stop re-keying information. The solution needed to be fully integrable with their existing ERP system, Dynamics AX. The primary goals was a system allowing data to flow freely between design and production, to improve accuracy and efficiency in any manufacturing environment and an easy handling of design changes without the risk of error, which was achieved with the implementation of Bluestar PLM.
