In this session, we will discuss how to bring an engineering department into our ERP system and give access to all of the engineering details to the complete organization. As well, we will show how to request a change to a product and then were able to track the information from Engineering and getting the information to the production floor. Lastly, we will show how to use Product Data Management and Product Life Cycle Management to ensure that you have the correct version/revision of data from Engineering to the complete organization.

Learning Objectives:

  • Have a new view on the Engineering Department involvement in ERP
  • Understand how CAD can be linked to ERP and PLM

Microsoft Announces Big Changes at the AXUG Summit

The next generation of cloud business applications has arrived! Dynamics AX has become a part of the newest Microsoft concept: the totally cloud-based Dynamics 365. Microsoft made some key announcements about the future of Microsoft Dynamics, including the new AX Product Roadmap as well as the details of Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Operations. As one of the first movers onto the Dynamics AX7 cloud-based platform (released earlier this year), Bluestar PLM was well-equipped for the launch of Microsoft 365 and is now available as a stand-alone license.

AXUG Summit attendees who stopped by our booth were excited that Bluestar PLM is fully-embedded inside Dynamics AX, as well as the ability to utilize full PLM functionality via ERP-integration.

AXUG Summit made it very clear that Bluestar PLM gave a unique impression on those who stopped by. The fact that Bluestar PLM software is completely embedded in the Dynamics (AX) and the ability to apply a full PLM functionality inside the ERP.

Overall, Bluestar PLM made a good impression on those who stopped by and we would like to thank all the attendees who visited our booth!

We were very surprised at the number of attendees, and we will definitely be in attendance again next year. So please mark your calendars for the AXUG Summit 2017 taking place on October 10th through 13th in Nashville! Let us Rock and Roll.

Microsoft focus on ISV and Partners at Industry Summit 2016

Bluestar PLM attended the US Industry Summit 2016. Microsoft made it clear to put more effort into the collaboration with the ISV’s and partners. This increases the joint cooperation and will also increase the common benefit of the entire working relationship. Microsoft wants the users of Dynamics 365 to be able to combine specific apps that fit right into their company. According to the new cloud-based concept the combinations will be limitless.

The future of PLM and ERP

The setup from Microsoft regarding AppSource and the new focus on working together through ISV’s and partners fits right into how Bluestar PLM works. Azure and AppSource benefits all the users of Dynamics, and as an ISV, Bluestar PLM, are certain this is the future. Bluestar PLM has an ongoing collaboration with Microsoft and this states our position as a strong and unique solution for engineering in Dynamics 365. Bluestar PLM is fully-embedded inside Dynamics (AX), and the ability to utilize full PLM functionality in Dynamics 365 is not only the future. It is already there.

We will be happy to show you how Bluestar PLM functionality works. Sign up for a live demo today.

Are you ready for AX7 ?

Bluestar PLM successfully launched on Microsoft Dynamics AX 7 last year, another promising milestone for the company. Bluestar PLM can accommodate your company’s needs, whether your AX solution is deployed in the Azure cloud, or on-site. Stop by Booth #843 for a live demonstration of Bluestar PLM on the brand new AX 7 platform.

Do more with the AX Product Configurator!

The Bluestar development team is continuing to expand the AX Product Configurator to enhance management of product configuration models for highly complex products. This includes:

  • An intuitive ”master-BOM based” interface for rules design and calculations
  • Design Automation: automatically drive 3D CAD models and drawings using the product configurator
  • 3D Visualization: configure your products in an intuitive 3D interface

In summary, this enables you to configure sales order/quotation lines in AX intuitively in 3D, automate the design work in CAD, and make the generated drawings available directly in AX.

Bring Your Engineering Team on Board with AX!

Are your engineers working in tools outside of Dynamics AX? This session will focus on how Bluestar PLM  improves collaboration between engineering and manufacturing teams by bringing your engineers onto the AX platform. Bluestar PLM is a product lifecycle management solution built in Dynamics AX with integration to several popular CAD packages.  The solution ensures that data is visible across all CAD, PLM and ERP systems in real-time and is easy to deploy and maintain.
